Aniimo Guide

Rare forms

Sparkling, Prismana & Umbrell variants

Rare reskins and forms that change how a creature plays and how you hunt it.

Most Aniimo have a standard appearance. Variants replace the look and sometimes the stats of a creature, and hunting them is one of Aniimo's long-tail endgame goals. The three variant families work differently, so plan the right hunt for the one you want.

What is a variant?

A variant is a rare alternate form of an Aniimo — a different look, and in some families a stat or potential bump on top of the base creature. They exist alongside rarity (Common to Perfect) and evolution stage (Lumen, Gamma, Nova), so a single hunt can layer several rare layers onto one catch.

The three variant families

  • Sparkling — rare wild spawns that appear at a low rate in normal habitats. The classic shiny-hunt: check every spawn of the species you're after.
  • Prismana — tied to events and the Companion Handbook (including a Prismana egg). Rarer than Sparkling, with a distinctive prismatic look.
  • Umbrell — weather- and region-mutated forms, the rarest family. Some Umbrell variants come with a Perfect Potential guarantee, making them endgame trophy targets.

How to hunt each one

  • Sparkling: pick a species with a dense spawn area, break-and-flee non-variants quickly, and let the area respawn on a loop.
  • Prismana: watch event schedules and Handbook rewards rather than wild odds — the egg is the reliable route.
  • Umbrell: learn the weather and time windows for your target's region, and be ready to travel when conditions line up.

Before you commit pods

Variants deserve your best capture setup: a full Break, a status effect if your squad has one, and a Pro-tier or better Anipod. Missing a Umbrell because you threw a Basic pod is the worst feel-bad in the game — the capture calculator can sanity-check your odds before the throw.
